Spring Festival Flakes

This weekend is Chinese New Year (also known as the Spring Festival) so I went home to the suburbs.  To my surprise, there was the most beautiful accumulation of snow on the evergreens and the thin, bare branches of deciduous trees.  Unfortunately, I did not bring my SLR home, so I decided to take some pics with my iPhone (5) instead (same thing, right?).IMG_0804 SnowIMG_0802 SnowIMG_0806 snowIMG_0811 SnowIMG_0814 Snow And my mom made some delicious nian gao, which essentially translates to Chinese New Year cake.  So Happy Chinese New Year even if you aren't Chinese!
