Sailing Lake Michigan
Summer has finally arrived in Chicago, and what better way to enjoy the weather than from out on Lake Michigan? In case you don't have a friend with a sailboat or one of those multi-million dollar yachts and don't want to get on one of those overcrowded boat tours leaving from the Chicago River, then you may want to splurge a bit for an outing on one of Chicago Sailboat Charter's sailboats.I recently had the privilege of experiencing a sunset sailing trip compliments of Yelp Elite. Not only do you not need to know how to sail, there is a captain and a deck hand, who will also serve you the drinks you bring aboard. They were perfect hosts!
The views are honestly spectacular. I really enjoyed seeing the city from afar (although you will get closer on a fireworks sail) and the other sailboats out enjoying the beautiful sunset that evening!
And make sure you hold on tight when the boat tips a bit!
And a successful sunset selfie =) Yes, it was cold out when we went.
- Bring a jacket. Even if it feels ok with just a shirt at the harbor, it may get windy and chilly on the lake! Never hurts to be prepared.
- Make sure you tip, especially if the service is great!
